STACEES network has ended

31 October 2024.

We have been winding down our operations over the past few weeks as the STACEES network will no longer have financial support after the 31 October 2024.

We have appreciated all of your positive interactions with us and the network over the past 3.5 years and we would like to thank you for engaging so enthusiastically with our events and activities. From start to finish, it has been a pleasure to bring our members together at seminars, networking sessions and workshops.

We have thoroughly enjoyed creating and delivering engagement activities that helped boost the network’s impact and visibility.

We’re grateful for the trust you placed in us when inviting us to join your meetings and inviting our feedback on your grant ideas, proposals and publication drafts. We have enjoyed hosting multiple colleagues from the University of Bonn and are pleased to report that this work has resulted in ongoing collaborations between Bonn and St Andrews.

We hope that the various reports we have produced over the last few years continue to be useful to the community: our report on sustainable travel, on executive education and short courses, on models for sustainability institutes and, more recently, on the Environmental Humanities at the University of St Andrews. We are glad that our earlier work on identifying opportunities for developing the University’s research and teaching capacity in the Environmental Humanities has laid the groundwork for subsequent and ongoing work in this area.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the STACEES Travel Blog and everyone who has read them and provided kind feedback. We are aware that some of you are in the process of producing blog posts and we regret not being able to publish any further new blogs.

It would be impossible to summarise everything we have worked on in an email (you may be unsurprised to learn that we have a large file for that!) but we are proud of everything that our small team has achieved.

Given the strong engagement with the network, we are very sorry not to have the capacity to thank you all personally for your valued contributions. We have really enjoyed working with you and hope that the connections that you have made through the network continue to benefit you going forward.

Thank you for being an important and valued part of this community,

The STACEES team (Laura, Sarah, Catriona and Mike)
