Three outstanding global projects have been selected as finalists of the 2024 St Andrews Prize for the Environment – Kham River Restoration Mission, Northwoods Rewilding Network, Washbox Global.
The St Andrews Prize for the Environment is a major international initiative led by the University that recognises and supports innovative and inspirational responses to environmental challenges, including the climate crisis.
Selected from an outstanding range of international entries from 37 countries, this year’s finalists include a Scottish rewilding advocacy organisation, a group from India who are on a mission to restore an important river that runs through their city, and an innovative approach to reducing construction waste flowing into waterways from an Australia-based operation.
The finalists will be in St Andrews during the inaugural Sustainability Week, commencing 28 October. Visit the St Andrews Prize for the Environment website to learn more about these outstanding organisations.
On Thursday 31 October, 9-11:15, in Upper College Hall, this year’s incredible finalists will present their work to a panel of judges, including University representatives the Master of the United College and Professor Sir Ian Boyd, and there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
The winner of the USD$100,000 prize will be announced publicly on Friday 1 November.
